The City of the Arts was designed with the intent of revitalizing the immediate area while expanding the already present artistic centers and using the surrounding environment to create piazza-like public spaces. Integrating the greater community, the complex includes an auditorium, artist studios with apartments, a rooftop garden, a tower of exhibition galleries and a museum dedicated to the adjacent Tiber river.

Redevelopment of an underused block in San Luis Obispo through a downtown hotel. Rerouting vehicular traffic and providing a pedestrian boulevard connects the building to the surrounding community and promotes community development.

A 14-acre farm plot is a solitary remnant of more rural times surrounded by suburban developments in Mountainview, California. Instead of another housing development, the alternative proposal suggests a mixed-use urban farm focused on connecting to the community through providing public spaces and forums, creating opportunities and engaging through education.
